October is right around the corner, if you can even believe it! Two of my favorite Marian Feasts are during October: The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7th and the Miracle of Fatima on October 13th. So I thought I’d share a few “Let’s Celebrate the Blessed Mother” ideas with you today to prepare for a month dedicated to the Rosary next month.
Since we can’t gather in too large of a group right now, host a Neighborhood Rosary Walk in your parishioner’s neighborhoods. How would this work? Advertise that the parish is going to do a Rosary Walk on Wednesday, October 7th at 6:30 pm (or a time that works for you). Each family would go walk in their own neighborhood praying the Rosary. You could conclude with a Live Streamed blessing and concluding talk from the pastor.
Take time to celebrate a few of the many apparitions of Our Lady including Our Lady of Fatima on the 13th. You could encourage families to watch the new movie (I’m dying to see this), feature a different apparition in the bulletin, or host a 4 week small group where you discuss a few that are familiar to us (Fatima and Guadalupe) and a few new ones (Kibeho and Good Help, the only approved one in America).
Pray the Litany of Loreto at the end of Daily and Sunday Mass during the month of October. It might seem long, but it’s a great reminder of the many names for Our Lady!
